Letter From Lisa "Making a Mark" First Two Novels in Hardcover Behind the Scenes Upcoming Appearances On Board Listen Up! |
BEHIND THE SCENES Lisa loves her home, which is good because when she is not on tour, she is truly a homebody. So it was extraordinarily exciting when House & Garden Magazine called to say they wanted to do a feature on her and her home. Of course that led to a last minute scramble to finish the long "whenever I get around to it" list of things that needed to be fixed, pictures that needed to be hung, and places that needed to be reorganized. In the end, it all got done, and even the dogs were on their best behavior. So House & Garden tagged along as Lisa wined and dined a handful of her favorite people including her editor, some bookselling friends, and John Searles, a good friend and fellow New York Times bestselling author. For dessert, Lisa got some cannoli shells and different flavored cannoli creme (the traditional ricotta cheese with chocolate chips is Lisa's favorite) from the wonderful Termini bakery in Philadelphia, and had her guests stuff their own cannoli. Lisa then teamed up with one of her riding buddies and spent some time riding her beloved pony, Buddy, while her friend rode Lisa's Irish born Willy. But all fun and no work means no new book, so Lisa put in some writing time while House & Garden looked over her shoulder and shot lots of pictures. Of course the dogs wanted in on the action, and they hammed it up for the camera as well.
