LISA'S BOOK CLUB CONTEST
The winning book club by random drawing is...The Culture Club of Rhode Island (see below!). Lisa is looking forward to treating this lively group to an extravagant dinner in their hometown. Lisa was also impressed to learn about all the creative ideas the Culture Club had to make their book club meetings more fun. These ladies once all entered a walk-a-thon, hammered away for Habitat for Humanity, and even rented a limo and went out for a great dinner, all while discussing their recent book club read by Lisa!
Thanks to all the wonderful book clubs that entered Lisa's contest. Lisa loved seeing all the diverse book clubs and marveled at how clever they were with the names for the groups. She has posted them all on her site, so you can see, too. She got a particularly good laugh over the large group from Little Egg Harbor, below, who all dressed like her picture on the back of her book. (See below.)
If you would like to enter Lisa's book club contest for the chance to have Lisa treat you and your book club to dinner, be sure to put her new book, LADY KILLER, due out on February 19th, 2008 on your book club's reading list next spring. Book clubs can be big or as small as you and a friend!
LISA'S BIG BOOK CLUB PARTY
As an added bonus, all the clubs who entered Lisa's book club contest were invited to attend her 2nd Annual Book Club Party at her home.
Despite the buckets of rain Mother Nature dumped on the Northeast for four full days prior to Lisa's Book Club Party...and all the way up to just an hour before the event, the party was a huge success. The sun finally came out and the day turned out beautiful. Lisa is grateful to the 200 book club readers who braved the stormy weather and came to her house for an afternoon of fun. After carbing up her guests with tasty desserts and snacks, Lisa regaled the crowd with the stories behind her stories, as well as hilarious personal anecdotes. She then signed books and took pictures while the rest of the group grabbed some more snacks and chatted with fellow book clubers. Her house full of people talking about books...nothing could have made Lisa happier. If your book club would like to attend Lisa's party next year, be sure to put LADY KILLER
on your Spring reading list and enter Lisa's book club
contest.
